Easy Air Fryer Salmon

This easy air fryer salmon recipe is now my favorite way to cook salmon. Using an air fryer is quick and convenient and this recipe makes tender and flaky salmon in about 10 minutes. I used two 5 oz salmon fillets and drizzled them with olive oil. I then covered them with paprika and my favorite Aglio Olio Trader Joe’s seasoning which is a garlic blend. The salmon fillets came out perfectly moist and flaky. Just serve with lemon wedges and you have a quick and healthy dinner.
Ingredients needed to make Easy Air Fryer Salmon:
- 2 5 oz salmon fillets 1 ” thickness (I like mine without the skin but you can cook them with or without). Frozen fillets could also be used.
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp Aglio Olio seasoning from Trader Joes or your favorite garlic blend
- Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges
How to make Easy Air Fryer Salmon:
- Let fish come to room temperature on the countertop.
- Drizzle the fillets with olive oil and spread the oil around with a pastry brush.
- Sprinkle the paprika and then the garlic seasoning evenly over the fillets.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the fillets in your air fryer. If your fillets have skin on them put them in the fryer skin side down. Cook at 390 degrees for about 7 minutes. Check the fillets for doneness. Remove the fillet when temperature on thickest part of fillet is 135 to 145 degrees. The fillet will continue cooking after removed from the air fryer. You can also check for flakiness and fish should be a pink color and no longer transluscent.
- Serve the fillets with lemon wedges.
Notes:
- You may use wild caught salmon or regular salmon fillets. Frozen fillets could also be used but may take a little longer to cook.
- If you need to cook your salmon longer place back in the air fryer in one minute increments. Use a meat thermometer to test the fillets for doneness. The USDA recommends salmon should be at internal temperature of 145 degrees. You can remove it at about 135 degrees as it will continue cooking a little. Check the internal temperature before consuming.
- Cooking time may vary depending on the size and thickness of your salmon fillets.
