Cuban Sandwich Sliders
These Cuban sandwich sliders are the perfect appetizer or party food. Layers of ham, pulled pork, swiss cheese and pickles. This slider starts with a King’s Hawaiian slider roll topped with deli ham, pulled Cuban mojo slow-roasted pork tenderloin, Swiss cheese, pickle slices and deli spread. The buns are brushed with butter and sprinkled with garlic, onion and everything but the bagel seasoning. They are then baked in the oven to melt the cheese and toast the buns. What do I need to make Cuban sandwich sliders:
- 1 package (9 count) King’s Hawaiian slider buns (or slider bun of your choice)
- 9 slices thin deli ham (1 slice per slider)
- 4 1/2 cups pulled Cuban mojo roast pork – 1/2 cup for each slider (recipe link Cuban Mojo Pork Roast )
- 4 1/2 slices Swiss cheese (1/2 slice per slider)
- 18 dill pickle slices (Two small dill pickle slices per sandwich. I sliced up whole baby dill pickles but you could use 1 large pickle slice per sandwich or dill pickle chips)
Spread for sliders:
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp Worchestershire sauce
Topping for sliders:
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp dried garlic
- 1 tbsp dried onion
- 2 tbsp Everything but the bagel seasoning
This recipe is for 9 sliders but if you are serving a larger group you can double the recipe.
How to make Cuban sandwich sliders:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Melt 3 tbsp butter and mix spread for sliders.
- Cut package of rolls in half if needed (some are already pre-cut). Leave the bottom half and top half of the rolls attached. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet.
- Layer rolls with ham, pulled pork, cheese and pickle slices.
- Slather spread mixture on top of buns and place the tops on the sliders.
- Melt 4 tbsp butter and brush on top of the slider buns. Mix garlic, onion and everything but bagel seasoning together in a small bowl and sprinkle mixture on top of the slider buns.
- Cover loosely with tinfoil and bake, covered for about 15 minutes or until sliders start to brown. Remove tin foil and bake another 5 minutes or so until tops are golden brown.
Notes for storage and re-heating sliders:
- Leftover sliders can be wrapped in tinfoil and stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
- You can reheat the sliders quickly in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or heat in the oven wrapped in foil at 350 degrees 5-7 min.
- Sliders can be frozen for up to 3 months in individual freezer bags. Let slider unthaw in the refrigerator and then sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
