Easy Banana Donut Holes

There is nothing better than easy banana donut holes when you want a delicious treat or something special for breakfast.  Made in the air fryer, these donut holes take 20 minutes or less to make.  No eggs or yeast are used in this recipe, only mashed banana, flour, baking powder and salt.  They are a moist, light and fluffy ball of deliciousness.  Roll in a sugar cinnamon mixture after they are baked and these babies are to die for!

Ingredients needed to make Easy Banana Donut Holes:

  • 1 large size banana, mashed (1/2 cup)
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Olive or avocado spray oil and/or olive and avocado oil (using only cooking spray saves calories)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Dash of nutmeg (optional)

 

How to make Easy Banana Donut Holes:

  • In a medium sized bowl mash banana well with a fork.  Add flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Stir the dry ingredients into the banana with a spatula.  Dough will not be perfectly smooth but a little shaggy looking.  Knead the dough and form into a ball with fingers sprayed with olive oil or avocado oil spray.  Dough will be somewhat sticky.
  • Scoop dough into balls with a cookie scoop.
  • Place the balls of dough on an air fryer pan lined with parchment paper leaving space between the dough balls.  You should have 8 balls of dough.

  • Spray or brush olive or avocado oil on the top of the balls of dough.
  • Cook in air fryer at 350 degrees for 6-7 minutes or until the donut holes are golden brown.  Cook in batches if needed.
  • In the meantime, mix the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg (optional) together in a small bowl you can dip the donut holes into.
  • When the donut holes are done, spray or brush them with a little olive oil or avocado oil and dip into the sugar cinnamon mixture.  Do this one at a time so the oil doesn’t absorb into the donut holes.
