- 3 slices thick bread (I used Granny Bread)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- pinch salt
- 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 fresh raspberries
- 27 dark chocolate chips
If needed, preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees. I use a Sur la Table air fryer that I don't need to preheat.
Combine the beaten egg, yogurt and honey in a small bowl. Whisk everything together until smooth and fluffy.
Cook in the air fryer for 5-7 minutes or until the custard is caramelizing, the edges are browning and center is set. The toast edges will be crunchy. Air fryer times may vary so watch carefully.
To bake in the oven, line cooking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes, or until edges caramelizing and center is set.
Serve with a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if desired and/or dust with powdered sugar (optional).
Notes: *The custard makes enough filling for 2 or 3 slices of bread, depending on the thickness. You may even have a little custard filling left over. *Calories are based on 1 piece of toast. Makes 2-3 servings. *If you have leftovers, refrigerate them and reheat in your air fryer for 1 minute. *I would recommend only using raspberries or blueberries for the fruit. I tried strawberries and they had too much liquid, making the bottom of the bread soggy and weighed it down.
