Fresh Peach Syrup

Fresh peach syrup is so divine on pancakes, waffles, crepes, or ice cream. So easy to make and is a great way to use up those extra peaches!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups peaches, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon, optional

Instructions
 

  • Prepare peaches by peeling and coarsely chopping them
  • Place peaches in a medium saucepan and add water.
  • Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium. Cook until peaches are softened.
  • Blend the peach mixture with an immersion blender to desired consistency. May make it chunky or smooth.
  • Add lemon, sugar and maple syrup and stir. Cook on low heat for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add cinnamon if desired and stir into mixture.
  • Pour peach syrup into desired container. Makes 1 pint. Refrigerate any leftovers for up to two weeks. If freezing, place in freezer containers and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Note: Calories calculated for 4 tablespoons serving size. Approximately 8 servings in a pint.
