M&M Cookies

My M&M cookies are a long-time family favorite. They are big, chewy cookies with tons of M&M candies. Easy to make with simple ingredients.

- 1 cup shortening (butter flavor or plain) or you may substitute real butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 10 oz package plain M&M's any color
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream the shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar together in a large mixing bowl.
Beat in the eggs, vanilla extract and water until mixture is creamy.
In separate medium bowl whisk flour, baking soda and salt together.
Add half of the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix with stand or hand mixer. Mix in the other half of the dry ingredients.
Fold M&M's into the batter.
Using a medium cookie scoop place cookie batter on an ungreased cookie sheet or you can use a silicone baking mat.
Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 1-2 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack.
